Downtown Mural Initiative
If you haven’t seen the Bruce Lee mural in Downtown South Milwaukee, you haven’t been downtown lately! Last year, Art Works raised over $11,000 and installed a mural on the Sorce Martial Arts building at the intersection of 10th & Milwaukee Avenues.
This year, we raised $17,000 at our annual fundraiser AND received a $22,000 grant from the Bucyrus Foundation. With these funds, we have contracted TWO new murals to go up in Summer/Fall 2024!

Watching the Mural Come to Life
From prepping the wall to painting with the community at our mural painting party and finishing the mural in less than one month, Tone Goméz, and assistant Nico Balboa, were an amazing team to watch create a beautiful piece of art across from our office.
Meet Our Muralist
Antonio “Tone” Gomeź is a Milwaukee base muralist. Before Bruce Lee, his portfolio included THE Giannis mural in Downtown MKE, other works in Milwaukee, Chicago, Albuquerque, Portland, and other locations around the country ! Follow Tone on IG @sketchy_tony to see what he gets into!

2023 Wine Tasting Fundraiser
In May of 2023, we held a wine tasting fundraiser that raised $11,990 to paint the Bruce Lee mural in downtown South Milwaukee.
Mural Painting Party
In October 2023, the community gathered to work together on a portion of the mural. We had a block party that hosted a chalk competition, bounce house, live music, and fun!
